Agricultural Research Corporation Meets with Catholic Relief Services (CRS)

The Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC) held a meeting with a delegation from Catholic Relief Services (CRS) on the evening of Wednesday, 20 August 2025 at Doke Hotel, Port Sudan. The meeting, attended by ARC’s Acting Director-General, Professor Ahmed Hassan Abu Assar, focused on exploring potential collaboration in implementing development projects in Gezira and Nile River states. These projects are scheduled to commence in the upcoming winter season.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of agricultural research and development and explored partnership opportunities in programs and projects aimed at supporting farmers, building capacities, and achieving sustainable development.

Professor Abu Assar emphasized ARC’s readiness to engage in any project that contributes to ensuring food security. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships with international organizations to support research and development efforts aimed at enhancing the agricultural sector.

For its part, the CRS delegation expressed its enthusiasm for enhancing collaborative relations with ARC to further joint efforts in the areas of food security and agricultural development.
