The Acting Director General of the Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC), Professor Ahmed Hassan Abou Assar, launched the first phase of rehabilitating the Genetic Resources Bank, in the presence of directors of departments and research centers, heads of sections, researchers, and staff. The launch included the provision of 19 deep-freezer units funded by the Federal Ministry of Finance, on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. The event also included the distribution of 155 office chairs, 20 swivel chairs, and 110 ceiling fans to support various research centers, stations, and sections across the ARC.
This initiative forms part of the Agricultural Research Corporation’s efforts to strengthen its research infrastructure and enhance its technical capacity in conserving plant genetic resources in accordance with scientific standards, contributing to food security programs and the sustainability of genetic resources.
